Scientists Ask and Test

I can ask a testable question and compare what I observe.

Let’s get started

Scientists notice, ask questions, make fair comparisons and record.

Learn together

  1. Ask “Which kind of paper folds more easily?” or choose another safe question.
  2. With an adult, fold two paper samples the same way.
  3. Describe what changed and what stayed the same; record the result with words or a sketch.

Example to explore

Question → fair try → record → explain.

Try it yourself

  1. Which is a question we can safely test?
  2. What should a scientist do after a test?
  3. Write or dictate one question you could test using safe materials.

Hands-on project

Create a “scientist journal” page with your question, simple drawing and one observation.

Reflect and grow

What did you learn by checking instead of guessing?
