Our Scientist Safety Promise

I can explain safe ways to observe and investigate.

Let’s get started

Scientists ask questions and explore—but first we choose safe actions.

Learn together

  1. Ask a grown-up before touching unfamiliar objects or beginning an experiment.
  2. Look closely without tasting unknown things. Wash hands after handling materials.
  3. Keep materials away from eyes and mouth. Report spills or sharp objects to an adult.

Example to explore

Safe: ask an adult, look, listen, wash hands.

Try it yourself

  1. What should you do before exploring something unfamiliar?
  2. Is it safe to taste a mystery liquid?
  3. Name or draw one safety rule for your investigation table.

Hands-on project

Illustrate a three-picture scientist safety poster: ASK, OBSERVE, CLEAN UP. Teach an adult your rules.

Reflect and grow

Which safety rule will you practice every time?
