Big Letter Builders

I can form three uppercase letters with a top-to-bottom starting point.

Let’s get started

Big letters can be built with straight and curved lines.

Learn together

  1. Practice a tall line from the top to the bottom for the letter L.
  2. For T, draw a line across the top and a line straight down the middle.
  3. For O, start at the top and draw one round curve back to the beginning.

Example to explore

L T O

Try it yourself

  1. Which letter is made using one closed round curve?
  2. Which letter has a line across the top?
  3. Choose L, T, or O. Tell how you form it, starting at the top.

Hands-on project

Make L, T, and O from yarn, dough, or finger-traced lines. Put them on a learning routine poster.
